Sensor Data Fusion for Anti-Personnel Land-Mine Detection
نویسندگان
چکیده
In this paper five different sensor data fusion options for the detection of anti-personnel land-mines are presented. The performance of these options are evaluated in a case study of estimated figures for mines and possible false alarm generating objects. Dempster-Shafer with proper mappings and rule based fusion provided the best result and an improvement over single sensor solutions.

Infrared processing and sensor fusion for anti-personnel land-mine detection
In this paper we present the results of infrared processing and sensor fusion obtained within the European research project GEODE (Ground Explosive Ordnance DEtection system) that strives for the realization of a vehicle-mounted, multi-sensor, anti-personnel land-mine detection system for humanitarian demining. The system has three sensor types: an infrared camera, a ground penetrating radar an...

In this paper we present the sensor-fusion results based on the measurements obtained within the European research project GEODE (Ground Explosive Ordnance DEtection system) that strives for the realisation of a vehicle-mounted, multisensor, anti-personnel land-mine detection system for humanitarian demining. The applied decision-level sensor-fusion techniques are Bayesian approaches, applicati...
متن کاملEvaluation methodologies for comparison of fusion algorithms in land mine detection
Several sensor fusion approaches are in use for detection of land mines. These are based on different techniques and show different results. Meaningful comparisons of fusion algorithm performance are difficult, because the performance achievable may be limited by the data acquired and the sensors used. Especially in comparing such dissimilar situations, it is important to compare measures that ...
متن کاملImproving detection of buried land mines through sensor fusion
A sensor-fused system has been developed for detection of buried land mines. The system uses a ground-penetrating radar, an infrared camera, and an electromagnetic induction sensor. In the current implementation each sensor is used independently, and fusion is performed during post-processing. We briefly describe the sensors and a data collection involving buried mine surrogates. Algorithms for...
متن کاملData Fusion for Vehicle-borne Mine Detection
This paper introduces a statisticallywell-founded evaluation of the fusion of dual-band infrared and tri-band visual imagery for detecting buried land mines using real-data. A unified Bayesian framework is presented for representing and inferring from data captured by multiple sensors of scenes that may contain buried land mines.
